A dab container, also known as wax, concentrate, or shatter jars are usually made of non-sticky materials such as silicon or glass. They come with a wide variety of materials, colors, sizes, and shapes in today’s market and are designed to conveniently store your dab for a good amount of time.
Cannabis concentrates(wax, shatter, crumble, live resin, or any other concentrate types) can last longer compared to other products such as flower buds or edibles. A concentrate can keep going for quite a long time up to a couple months depending on the quality of your concentrates, environmental conditions as well as the storage practices you employed. A good dab container can help to keep your cannabis concentrate longer and keep it as fresh as possible.
There are different types of materials used for dab containers. Carefully choose the materials because its relevant to your expected duration of storage. Some materials are more ideal for longer periods while others are mainly for short-term storage.
FOR COUPLE DAYS - If you only need to store your dabs for a couple days, the silicon containers are good enough for quick storage.
WITHIN A MONTH - If you need to store your dabs for a little longer period, the glass jars and airtight containers can be your optimal choice. Instead of putting directly into the container, it is recommended to split the concentrates up into smaller pieces using parchment papers to wrap them up. Keeping them in a cool spot will ensure the quality for about one month without sacrificing its tastes or effects.
FOR COUPLE MONTHS - If you are planning to store your dabs for a long time, you do not have many options but freezing then. It can be a very risky method because your dabs can be exposed to humidity and lose its potency by putting into the freezer or fridge. Ensure to follow the previous steps and use a vacuum-sealer before placing them in a freezer, you can minimize your risk losing your dabs’ quality.
Luckily, dab containers do not require a lot of cleaning or maintenance, especially for the silicon-made containers. Over time the waxy residue may stick on the container surfaces – this residue can be easily cleaned with rubbing alcohol and salt like how you clean your dab rigs or other wax atomizers. Many people scrape off the residue and collect them for later use as well.
